The Society thinks and feels that the emerald buddha was built upon its long history and symbolism as an object of power for those able to possess it and the older it gets the more power it has. It marks the changing of the seasons in Thailand as well. They have a dress code when enetering the temple. Men must wear long pants and Men must wear long pants and sleeved shirts and shoes; women must wear long skirts. Visitors who arrive dressed otherwise may rent appropriate clothing items at the entry area of the temple. The place would have more windows and re-modeled way differntly and not have those types of colours.
